measure and weight

we had an acoustic service today, slightly different than usually we had. it's wonderful though. besides, i think we had more prayers session and the message was so powerful.
Ps Anne was sharing about the measure and weight of consistency in our walk with God. often time, our measure and weight of consistency are being waved by people surrounding us, circumstances that come our way and our feeling that overrules or manipulates us. before i go any further. please keep this in mind "God has not changed, He's the same, 2008 years ago, yesterday, today and in the future. but we Changed."
how are we being changed by the people in our measure and weight? we have a tendency to put a large measure and weight of grace towards our immediate family or our loved ones. And small or slight weight of grace towards those who are far reaching, politician for examples. people can also intimidate us in which it will cause us to wave things that we should be able to speak boldly or do it without hestitation because we know God has put it in our heart.
another factor that does influence us to change in the way that God does not intend us to follow is circumstances. when things go well, we all feel so energetic, enthusiastic, happy and give praise and worship to God. but how if things are not going in the way we want it?will we still be able to raise our hands and give thanks unto the Lord? Job is a very good example on this. How did Job respond to God when all that he used to have was taken away, viz, his cattle, wealth, health, children and even his wife and his friends left him? in Job 2:10, after his wife asked him to curse God and die, he replied "are you talking like a foolish woman. shall we accept good from God, not trouble?"he's consistent in his faith to God. he acknowledged that things had its season. do you see the different respond from 2 persons who were going through the same circumstances but had different respond/consistency towards God? his wife cursed God, but Job still praise the Lord. are we like Job? are still going to give praise to God when troubles hit us? or do you still choose to do your devotion and prayers when things seem so normal? do you still praise Him irrespective whether you feel Him or not? boys and girls, men and women, do not let your circumstances change your consistency towards God. be consistent in our faith to God, whatever comes your ways for He'll reward you with a crown of life.
one last but not least is our feeling. a feeling is a gift from God. how could we express our joy or our grief without the feeling when words can't explicitly be expressed. but we must also be careful because our feeling can manipulate us and others as well. it can rob us from our true destiny that God has prepared for us. numbers 20:1-13, Moses let his feeling to manipulate him. he was so angry at the Israelites and he allowed it to overtook him. as a consequence, God said he would not enter the promised land. do you see how serious the consequence of focusing on our feeling?
we should give the same weight and measure consistency in our walk with God no matter comes our way. yea it's not easy because we are weak in our nature. only one solution to this "fix our eyes upon Jesus"

Turn your eyes upon Jesus, look full in His wonderful face, And the things of earth will grow strangely dim, In the light of His Glory and Grace.

God understands your weaknesses, He will use them mightly to reveal to you that He's able to bring you through and He's real. it takes you to believe. in your weakness, His grace is sufficient. i love this God and of course i love you too, no matter who you are.
